Deez Biryani, Gurgaon

[Rated: 4/5]
Tired of ordering Pizzas and Subway sandwiches in office, we are always on the lookout for convenient finger foods that can be ordered for a working lunch. We tried Deez Biryani at home before using it as an option in office.
We ordered one serving each of Mutton and Vegetarian Biryani. Both these dishes had a special tag and also were the costliest in their categories. We were told that the order will  be delivered within 30-40minutes, but after an hour when we called to check the status, a non-apologetic voice informed us that the order had already left. If Deez was running any offer like Dominos 30 min or free, they wouldn’t be making any profits. Exactly 90 minutes after placing the order, we heard the door bell ring. Two beautiful haandis were handed over to us in exchange for Rs403.

The haandis were nice, but opening them wasn’t so. Though a small iron wire was placed inside the now hardened flour seal to open the haandi, we still had to use a knife to cut it open. We were quite hungry by this time. The black carbon from the charred exterior not only dirtied our hands but also the table on which the haandis were placed. Finally, the lid was prised open, and we could smell the aromatic biryani, which was neatly packed inside. The Biryani came with with generous quantities of raita and onions, which were great accompaniments. Despite of the delay and equally hard work in opening the haandi, the biryani was hot and tasted exceptional. The mutton and rice both were tender and cooked to perfection. In fact, the quantity of mutton was more than our expectations, though the overall quantity of each biryani was inadequate for 1 person.

If I am okay with a waiting time of one and a half hours I would order it again at home, but the packing made it inconvenient for a working meal in office.
