Be seen with a winner - Awards won by Black Dog Scotch

Now that I know the great parentage of Black Dog Scotch. To understand it even better it will be appropriate to know how the brand has performed the over years and if it has won any awards in its journey of over one hundred and thirty years.

Here are some of the awards that I found on Google search on different websites. It is not an exhaustive list but does give a flavour of rich background of Black Dog Scotch.

  • Whiskey Mag Award 2010: Won award for Scotch Blended 12 and under Black Dog 12 years old
  • Monde Selection: Gold Medal in 2006 for Black Dog 12 year Old
  • Black Dog Reserve 18 Year old picked up a Gold award at the MUNDUS Vini ISW International Spirits Awards 2011 in Germany, its third Gold Award.
  • Silver Medal for Best Young Whiskey: Black Dog 8 Year Old in International Whisky Competition 2011 – Chaos in Chicago

Founded in 1961, Monde Selection’s mission is to test consumer products and grant them a bronze, silver, gold or grand gold quality award. This quality label, awarded by a totally independent professional jury, offers the consumer and the producer numerous advantages. For the evaluation of spirits and liqueurs, Monde Selection always count on the collaboration of world-wide renowned oenologists, master sommeliers, university lecturers and professional tasters. Each product is tasted by all the jury members who quote individually and independently on evaluation forms.

As I said earlier there are many other awards which Black Dog has won, but my idea is not to create repository of its award. There are many other reputed international awards the brand has won over last century to claim itself a winner. I am a winner too, so what better than being seen in a common company :-)
